Victim Identified in Tragic Airbnb Murder on TRM Drive, Thika Road

In a chilling incident that has shaken the community along TRM Drive on Thika Road, the victim of a brutal murder at an Airbnb has been identified. The 24-year-old woman, whose name is yet to be disclosed, was found brutally stabbed to death, with her body gruesomely chopped into pieces.

Residents awoke to the shocking scene on a peaceful Sunday morning, as the caretaker of the Airbnb discovered suspicious-looking polythene bags outside the stairs. Upon closer inspection, the gruesome reality unfolded – the woman's remains were discovered and stuffed into a paper bag.

The suspect, believed to be the victim's lover, had booked a room for an overnight stay at the Airbnb. The morning after, the keys were returned, but the suspect had vanished without a trace. The Airbnb manager, Risper Muthoni, was alerted by the caretaker about the blood-stained white bed sheet and the suspicious bags, leading to the horrifying discovery.

As of the reporting time, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kasarani had arrived at the crime scene. While the names and photos of both the victim and the suspected killer are yet to be made public, investigators have obtained CCTV footage of the suspect picking up the keys.

The motive behind this heinous act remains unclear, and investigators are diligently working to piece together the sequence of events leading to the murder. The community is left grappling with the aftermath of yet another senseless act of violence within the seemingly secure walls of a temporary lodging facility.

The incident has sparked an outcry on social media, with many Kenyans calling for increased regulation of the Airbnb industry. Safety concerns have been raised, with suggestions ranging from stricter regulations to treating Airbnbs like hotels, complete with proper documentation, CCTV cameras, and enhanced security measures.

This tragic event follows closely on the heels of the vicious murder of Nairobi socialite Starlet Wahu, who met a similar fate just eight days ago at another Airbnb in South B. As investigations continue, the community is left with a somber reminder of the urgent need to address safety concerns within the rapidly expanding Airbnb industry.
