Pennsylvania Toddler Allegedly Killed by dad’s girlfriend

 In a horrifying incident that has left a Pennsylvania community in shock, 18-month-old Iris Rita Alfera lost her life under disturbing circumstances. Aleisia Owens, the girlfriend of Iris's father, Bailey Jacoby, stands accused of fatally poisoning the innocent child with a lethal mixture of acetone, batteries, screws, and other harmful substances.

The Horrifying Incident

On June 25, 2023, Bailey Jacoby left his daughter Iris under the care of Aleisia Owens as he went to the store. A distressing call from Owens prompted Jacoby's return, only to find his daughter unresponsive. Despite his immediate call to 911, Iris's life hung in the balance. An autopsy later revealed that the toddler had ingested a deadly combination of water beads, button-shaped batteries, and a metal screw.

The Investigation

Owens initially claimed that Iris had sustained a head injury after falling off her bed during a cramp. However, the autopsy contradicted this account, revealing a far more sinister truth. Owens had been researching the harmful effects of household items on children, including water beads, batteries, and nail polish, in the months leading up to the incident. Acetone, found in nail polish remover, was identified as the cause of Iris's death.

Legal Consequences

Aleisia Owens now faces serious charges, including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault of a child, and endangering the welfare of a child. The evidence against her, particularly the meticulously researched information found on her phone, is crucial in building a case against the alleged child killer. Owens has been taken into custody and is being held without bond at Lawrence County Jail.
